For a recent project in Brooklyn\u2019s Boerum Hill neighborhood, design studio\u00a0Workstead<\/a>\u00a0built a library of beech millwork, outfitting it with locally designed and fabricated furniture, to house the client\u2019s ample book collection.<\/p>\n The Manhattan loft of design duo\u00a0Roman and Williams<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a partnership between Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch \u2014 is furnished exclusively with vintage finds, many from former factories. The library at the rear is part of Alesch\u2019s studio.<\/p>\n Two more designs by Jayne. Left: At Drumlin Hall, in New York\u2019s Hudson River Valley, Jayne created a library that does double duty as a relaxed space for cocktails and after-dinner conversation \u2014 hence the pull-down bar in one of its archways.
